Donate Your Old Games To The Troops

Tuesday, February 5th, 2008

Forget selling your old $60 games to local crappy game retailers for $5 and seeing them on the shelves 2 days later for $55. Donate your games to the troops.

Go Ahead And Call It, Format War Over

Tuesday, February 12th, 2008

Looks like the final nail in the coffin for HD DVD fans. Netflix, in a surprising move, have announced that they will only be carrying Bluray DVD’s for the high definition crowd. Considering that NetFlix is how most people get their High Definition DVD’s rather than shell out $30+ dollars for them at Best Buy, I’m going to say that a mortal wound to Toshiba’s HD DVD player. And it’s about damn time, I must say. Now I can finally get an HD TV and enjoy all is high resolution goodness without having to worry about what player to buy. I must say, this greatly increases the odds that I’m going to one day buy a PS3 unless Microsoft comes out with a Bluray attachment thats price is too good to pass up. So cheers to you Sony, and sorry Toshiba, you fought a good fight.

Valentine’s Gift

Wednesday, February 13th, 2008

Women should really stop telling the men in their lives that they don’t have to get them anything for Valentine’s Day. We all know you are just trying to trap us into longer “I’m sorry” servitude and it’s not going to work anymore.

Spore Release Date, Sept 7th 2008

Wednesday, February 13th, 2008

The date heard ’round the geek universe. The ultimate sim game Spore has announced their official release date. This is by far one of the only video games I am still waiting for and I almost wonder if this will affect the release date of the next WOW expansion, time will tell.

Feb 13th Comic

Friday, February 15th, 2008

So if you look closely at the Feb 13th comic you will notice the line edges are a little off this go around. I tried something different with the Wacom tablet, changing the sensitivity and brush sizes in PhotoShop to get more variance in the brush strokes. And damn it was beautiful. Unfortunately I made all the brush strokes on the wrong layer, the same layer as my scaned image, and I punched myself in the face. Usually I have a layer for ink, color and then the scan. So being lazy and late at night I did not want to re-ink everything, possibly the wrong decision, and cleaned up the scan and tried to color on the same screen. My PhotoShop skills are not that elite, yet, maybe some day, so just try to ignore the ugliness.

Cheers!

Ding Ding

Monday, February 18th, 2008

So I’ve gotten back into WOW lately and I’ve been burning a character all the way to level 61. I would have never reached 61 if Blizzard hadn’t doubled the XP for quests, so thank you blizzard for that. My first trip to outland has been great fun, from my first spanking from the Felreaver so the ground looking weird and up popping a Crust Buster. Currently saving for my level 60 mount and can’t wait to explore outland more, sorry sweetie.

Mario Kart Screens

Tuesday, February 19th, 2008

Some new screen shots have been released for the upcoming Mario Kart for Wii.

After seeing what the Wii is capable of in Mario Galaxies and the upcoming Super Smash Bros, this game just looks like utter crap, if I want N64 graphics I will plug in my old N64, that reminds me I haven’t play Gauntlet Legends in a while.
