Scary Thought

Wednesday, June 18th, 2008

First off, what is with the summer lineup of TV shows? I mean reality show after reality show. I know everyone with talent is off for the summer, but can’t we just show some re-runs or something?

Second, what do kids do these days during the summer? I remember entertaining myself with G.I.Joes, Legos and KNex, but they all seem so boring compared to the stuff we have now.

And lastly, why is it so hot here, it’s only June and already a dozen days of 100 degree weather sheesh.

Woot! My First Hate Mail

Wednesday, June 18th, 2008

I can’t believe it. I check my email this morning to find my first piece of hate mail! Check it out:

Just wanted to let you know I think your comic is really bad. It’s very poorly
drawn and the jokes aren’t even jokes most of the time. I don’t even know why
you bother with this trash.

How awesome is that? Site traffic lately has been slowly increasing on a near natural increase of unique users. Using no ads for the site except listings on webcomic list sites and a few submits to Digg here and there. About a week ago I did some SEO, and that’s bringing in more users from search engines as well.

But I must be doing something right to generate my first hate mail.

Now I’m not going to totally disagree, shocking I know. My art needs some work. I can draw the same character 3 different times and have 3 different looking characters. I think it may be due to how simplistic my characters are. My “inking” can be really bad some times and I’m working on that. And most of the time the backgrounds I slap on are completely after the thought. But if you think that every comic is laugh out loud slap your mama funny every day then you are just retarded. Do cartoonist try to be funny, of course, but do they always get it spot on, not quite.

So here’s to you Mr. Joe Bob, who didn’t supply a real email address for me to respond to and looked at maybe two comics before firing this special email off to me, thanks for keeping the dream alive. I look forward to many more hate mails from you.

Cheers!
